Mobile Reading with Stanza iPhone App
The Stanza iPhone App is software used to download and allow you to read electronic books on your iPhone and iPod. From a huge selection of books and periodicals available on the market, the Stanza application becomes your “wireless electronic library”. This is a free application that you can easily download onto your iPhone.
Comparatively speaking, what makes it different from other iPhone applications for electronic books is the huge collection of free eBooks that can be downloaded directly to the iPhone or iPod. It has a very simple interface that anyone can use.
Reading with Stanza
With this application, you can read electronic books in either landscape or portrait format. Every page of the eBook is displayed on a per page basis which means there is no need to scroll down to reach the last word on the page. Just like reading any ordinary printed book, simply flip to the next page when ready to move on. While you’re on a particular page, simply touch the screen to open a menu of options. You can also use the scroll bar and navigate throughout the whole eBook without losing the current page you are reading. You can customize your reading in the configuration options that allow you to adjust the eBook settings such as font, text background color, line spacing and margins.
According to its website, Stanza applications has built-in support for different electronic book formats such as the DRM format from the PalmDoc, Amazon Kindle, Microsoft LIT, Mobipocket, as well as document formats such as PDF, Microsoft Word, HTML and Rich Text Format filed on iPhone in RTF format. What’s more, the Lexcycle's Online Library has a huge library of electronic books including Romeo & Juliet that can be downloaded direct to your iPhone using the Stanza applications.
Cover Arts
The Stanza iPhone App has recently been updated to utilize the cover art of eBooks'. If an electronic book includes a cover art, Stanza iPhone App can load it up for viewing. Cover art may appear as one of a selection of cover arts that you can choose. When your iPhone is on portrait mode, it is the small thumbnails that appear near the titles. If you are on landscape mode you can browse your library in a “cover flow-esque” set up.
Lighter Books
This is a nice change. You need not carry a stack of books with you. With the Stanza iPhone App, your books are just a touch away. They are lighter and easier to carry. You can take them anywhere and use them anytime. While the internet is fast becoming the center of information, the Stanza iPhone App makes information mobile even without internet connectivity. It can also prove its worth in a time of distress. You can keep a First Aid eBook in your iPhone and access it when necessary.
Any iPhone is provided with a version of Stanza for both Mac and Windows. Therefore, you can use the desktop version to import eBooks stored in your computer and share through the internet.
