The Slacker iPhone App is a newly launched application for iPhone and Blackberry. It has added features to provide you a high quality stereo audio for your listening pleasure. This is free with a Slacker Radio account and a premium account with iPhone applications.

The Slacker Way

The free Slacker iPhone application gives you access to the huge Slacker music database which includes millions of songs from thousands of artists. You get free choices of music from their huge library as well as high quality stereo playback from any wireless connection. From this application you can create your own artist station, and then fine tune the stations to play more of the music you like. You get to listen to thousands of artists, view their biographies, photos and reviews. Select which artists you like and delete those that you dislike. It has pause and skip features that enable you to select the songs you want. It allows you to go over your emails without interruption.

What is on the web is very much the same as what is on the iPhone. You can search over a hundred stations and listen to thousands of artists. You can also modify your stations with selections you like, include new songs or focus on a selection of older songs. It uses a Cover Flow-style interface that allows you to skip a song in your playlist, read about the albums or the artist and log in to iTunes.

Customizing the Slacker iPhone App

Here are some points on how the Slacker iPhone App works on your iPhone. First of all, the Slacker iPhone App is initially set in the Slacker website. All stations and custom settings are set in the website not on the application. Be sure that you have a computer to access before configuring your Slacker iPhone App. As soon as you have downloaded the application into your iPhone, allow it to boot up and load the first song.

To see a list of genres music you need to scroll the station screen and select one that will bring you to another window. Once you have selected the station it will allow you to listen to the music while you decide whether to add that particular station into your favorites by tapping the title bar on the display screen. For a specific song and artist, you can search using the “search” feature. You will see your selected station on the computer or in the website only. However, you will be able see what is next on the playlist on both your iPhone and computer screen.

Conduit for Streaming Music

Because the Slacker iPhone App relies heavily on internet connection and the Slacker Website, the app basically turns to a conduit for streaming music in the internet. While it is quite limited on its own, the Slacker iPhone App is quite a light application. It also does not store music in your iPhone. No memory space will be used for music played on the Slacker iPhone App.
